ERS Railways is a European licensed railway company in the A.P.Møller Maersk Group currently operating shuttle trains in over 15 European countries through our own operations or based on strategic partnerships. The European headquarters are located in Rotterdam; furthermore we have operations and sales offices in The Netherlands, Germany and Poland.

IT Support Technician (40 hours)

Your key responsibilities & tasks:
The IT Support Engineer at ERS Railways B.V. interacts with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment. He/she assists clients and users with the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and timeframes. As our new IT Support colleague you work closely with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems of equipment and software.

You will also build close working relationships with your IT colleague to determine and resolve technical problems and manage administrative tasks on the server side, networks and communications infrastructure. You are able to operate, disassemble and rebuild various hardware (printers, pc’s, copiers, phones). Also system upgrades to ensure longevity are recommended and performed by you. Since you will be working in a 24/7 environment you should also be available for on-call duties after hours and during holidays of your IT colleague.

As our preferred candidate:
• You have 3 to 5 years of desktop and/or basic networking support experience in a small to midsize environment (50-500 computers);
• Intermediate knowledge of relevant Microsoft products is required;
• Intermediate knowledge of desktop and printer support is required;
• Microsoft Certified Certification or ICT related training are preferred;
• Knowledge of Dutch and English, verbally as well as in writing;
• Basic knowledge of German is preferred.

You are an individual, who is able to work on multiple open issues, keeps track of them and has en eye for efficiency. You are in possession of strong communication skills (oral and written), a flexible mentality and you are committed to deliver timely and thorough results.
