Sr. Network Specialist

The Sr. Network Specialist maintains the Network security and optimizations. Together with a Jr. Network specialist you will be responsible for supporting server systems, firewalls and remote authentications. You have to apply changes to current and future network requirements to meet needs. You may troubleshoot network systems and recommend improvements to network and systems.

Key objectives & responsibilities of the role
• Manage functional requirements and technical design as well as budget, planning and resources;
• Maintain appropriate routers, switches, firewalls, remote access and troubleshoot communications issues;
• Recognizes necessary network improvements and makes suggestions to Technical Services Manager;
• Perform risk analysis when updating hardware and software and provide control documentation.

Profile
We are looking for a candidate with a HBO degree and at least 5 years of working experience within IT. You are preferable certified as a Cisco Professional (Design, Routing, Security and Voice) and you have extensive knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching and security software. Your communication skills in English are excellent, both verbal and written. You will be part of a mainly Dutch team in a very international organization. Knowledge of German or French is a big plus.
