For our location in Amsterdam we are looking for a:

System Engineer
(Microsoft, VMWare)

Function description System Engineer:
As a System Engineer at Payvision, you will be part of the Payvision Infrastructure team, in charge of the high available (“five nines”) platform and dealing with (among others): vSphere, Fiber Based SAN, Storage Arrays, Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 servers, Microsoft Exchange 2007 servers and Windows 2008 hyper-V platform. You will be tasked to maintain the systems in their optimal state as well as supporting the business by adding the required new functionalities. The workload is shared between forty percent (40%) administration and sixty percent (60%) projects and implementation. You will be required to take ownership of assigned projects from design to implementation. You will be asked to work proactively and to maintain and develop your technical skills.

Tasks:
• Maintain the systems in their optimal state.
• Proactively work on keeping improving the systems.
• Maintaining and developing your technical skills.
• Take ownership of assigned projects: extend/upgrade existing systems, analyze the requirements, design/present a solution and deploy and maintain solutions once approved.

Requirements System Engineer:
• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science/Mathematics (or similar).
• 5 years of relevant work/internship experience.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft technologies, VMWare vSphere and Storage technologies.
• Good understanding of Network technologies (Firewall, Switching, VPN and common Network protocols).
• Good understanding of ICT Security.
• Experience with maintaining high availability online (transaction processing) platforms.
• Proactive thinker with can do mentality.
• Fluency in English.
• Living in the Netherlands (no relocation).
• In possession of a driver’s license, experience with PCI-DSS and knowledge of Tripwire is a plus.
