Our client is a leading global Hybrid Network Operator providing a unique portfolio of wholesale connectivity services in more than 200 countries to international carriers, system integrators and solution providers. They offer services such as Internet access, virtual private networks, co-location and international private leased circuits.
Our client’s headquarter is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Other offices are based in Singapore, USA, Mexico and Russia.

Place in the organization
The Carrier Relations Manager EMEA is a member of the Carrier Relations team, and reports to the Director Carrier Relations.

Job purpose and scope
Establishing new and maintaining existing relations with carriers/providers of telecommunication services (e.g. Internet access, MPLS VPN, Ethernet, hardware) in order to enable Our client to offer competitive services with high service levels. The Carrier Relations Manager is partially responsible for all carriers / providers in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

Key responsibilities
The key activities for this position are:
• To continuously search, identify, establish and manage relations with carriers / serviceproviders in the EMEA region.
• To lead Master Service Agreement negotiations with these carriers / providers. Key items are services, service specifications, pricing, service levels, processes and terms & conditions.
• To drive for an optimised cost base of the carrier / provider services by leading effective negotiations and implementing innovative commercial models.
• Translate purchased services into standard services (incl. pricing and terms) within the rules as defined by Product Management.
• To keep track of the operational and commercial performance of the carriers / providers, initiate improvements and change carrier / provider preferences where required.
• To keep track of new developments in the EMEA region, in terms of available service technologies, pricing, service levels, and regulatory environment.
• To support sales for commercial projects where additional services/solutions and/or special commercial conditions from carriers / providers are required.
• Support operational escalations (e.g. with regard to procurement, provisioning, performance, support or finance).

Education and work experience
• Bachelor or master degree or equivalent and proven track record.
• Result driven, persistent, quality driven and a strong commercial sense.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. French is preferred.
• At least 3 years of working experience in the international telecommunications industry in a similar position.
• Appreciation of data / IP services and knowledge of underlying network and access technologies (e.g. MPLS, Ethernet, IPSec).
• Experienced in drafting and contract negotiations.
• No 9-to-5 mentality and ability to work under pressure.
