For our development center in Eindhoven, we are looking for several Java software engineers.

Profile
You will be part of our Professional Services team that is working on exciting eBusiness and PIM projects. You will be part of a growing development team, working by an agile programming methodology.
Software engineers on our team are proactively involved in the full cycle of professional software development. This includes active work in the design, coding and maintenance of leading edge software solutions.
The job requires a high interest in both technical and functional aspects of software development. Innovation and knowledge transfer are core values in our dedication to continuous improvement.

Main responsibilities:

• Work closely with our functional analysts and project managers to determine the functional and technical needs of the software solution.
• Design parts of the solution in collaboration with other software engineers and architects of your team.
• Responsible for coding of specific functional parts, platform extensions in the application or integration with other systems.
• Unit testing.
• Work closely with our Quality Assurance team who will create and execute test cases to validate the quality of our software solutions.
• Take responsibility for your part of the solution as part of the continuous integration process.

The Java Software Engineers must be able to work within a team, cooperate with other teams at Softlution, as well as take ownership of their part of the solution as part of our continuous integration process. No 9-to-5 mentality.

Experience
We are looking for candidates with an Information Technology degree at HBO (or equivalent) level with experience in:

• At least two years of hands on development and design experience in a java project with significant size and complexity.
• Preferably, you have experience with web-based applications.
• You already have a passion for java-based web and open source technologies.
• You have gathered relevant java development experience either professionally or via open source contribution.
• You have always delivered high-quality software.
• Minimal technical skills: J2SE, J2EE, Eclipse, HTML/XML, Design Patterns, JUnit, SQL, relational databases, web services, Subversion
• Experience in eBusiness/eCommerce and PIM is considered an asset.

Skills
Candidates must have proven skills:

• Result-oriented.
• Customer-oriented.

• Flexible.
• Good communications skills (verbal and written).
• Language skills: at a minimum Dutch and English.
