Senior Developer
Fulltime, Location: Den Haag

We are looking for a new colleague for our Development team ONLINE. You will contribute to the maintenance and development activities within the Online Middleware and Provisioning application landscape. You will safeguard business continuity and quality for the system interfaces to both internal an external systems.

Your responsibilities as a Senior Developer will be to:

• Investigate feasibility of requirements and estimate impact and effort
• Conduct technical design and write technical specifications
• Develop and maintain applications
• Improve existing applications
• Write and maintain formal specifications for team specific applications and services (e.g. XINS)
• Write technical documentation
• Pro-actively participate in the further development of team’s services and application frameworks
• Pro-actively suggest improvements regarding productivity, architecture, working methods, specifications, code quality, etc.
• Support the different software development entities within Online
• Participate in the packaging and delivering of software deliverables
• Research (potential) problems with applications deployed in a production environment by analyzing and combining information from different sources, like access logs, application logs, etc.

We are looking for you when you

• Have a College (HBO) or University technical degree or significant work experience
• A Minimum of 5 years experience as a software developer in a similar position, preferably within ISP or Telco
• You have excellent knowledge/experience with applicable software development languages and methodologies (PERL, JAVA)
• You have excellent knowledge/experience with source code versioning systems and applications frameworks
• You are experienced with UNIX/Linux systems and commands
• You have knowledge of and proven experience with Waterfall and Agile development methodology
• You are familiar with code profiling and unit testing methods  preferred.
• Of course you are an analytical, result oriented and thorough person, hands-on and pragmatic. You are enthusiastic and you’re able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You have the ability to bridge between Business and IT departments to build on the relationship and enhance interdepartmental services.
• Also you have the ability to train and coach junior developers on the job
• You master the English language fluently (work language)
