Our Client is a global Hybrid Network Operator providing business-grade wholesale telecommunication services. By combining her own network facilities with the technology and expertise of local market leaders, out client is able to offer customers a unique portfolio of services in more than 200 countries. Her customers are typically international carriers and telecom operators.

Established in the Netherlands in 2004, Our Client operates from its headquarters in Amsterdam and from offices in Washington, Singapore, Mexico City and Moscow. At present, her flat organization consists of an international team comprised of 55 professionals, who create an informal working environment which empowers our ambition, responsibility, creativity, individual strengths and fun. Due to the success, our client is now strengthening her 24×7 customer support center (CSC) and looking for an enthusiastic Support Engineer.

Job profile
As a Support Engineer you will be a member of the international oriented support team (currently circa 10 FTE’s) in the CSC, which is part of the Network & Operations department. This department is responsible for all incident management activities. Support Engineers therefore take full ownership of a pending technical issue until resolved. Your primary tasks and responsibilities will be to:

Communicate with customers concerning incoming incidents and register these findings; Resolve technical issues involving clients’ network connections by analyzing the incident and pro-actively coordinating the repair process with providers; Manage the customer relation by means of proactive communication throughout the entire resolution process so that the client experiences the problem as fully and adequately resolved by our client;Administrate the process of technical support accurately and share findings with colleagues;Participate in project teams as necessary to support the business.
As a support engineer you will work in shifts during 5 days within a week. There are 2 shifts per day, 7 days a week. Naturally, our support engineers receive compensation for working shifts during the weekend.

Your Profile
Completed relevant education (ICT, Electronics, Telecommunications)Minimal of 1 year relevant work experience
General knowledge of: Access networking technologies (xDSL, Leased Line, wireless, satellite)Routers / firewalls (primarily Cisco)VPN solutions (public based on IPSEC/SSL or private based on MPLS)
Network management systems / toolsEnglish proficiency is a must; French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Portuguese is beneficialAnalytical & communicatively strong Creative & customer focused Team player & no 9-to-5 mentality
